About the Position

We are seeking a highly analytical and organized individual to join our team as a Financial Support Specialist. This role will provide critical support to our accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial information.

Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $29,405 - $43,616 per year, based on a 40-hour workweek.

Job Description

The Financial Support Specialist will be responsible for coordinating activities related to accounts payable support, accounts receivable billing, payment processing, and performing various financial tasks. This includes developing and maintaining financial reports, analyzing financial data, processing and maintaining vendor files, preparing and distributing 1099s, and collaborating with IT and other City departments to develop and implement financial system control procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain financial reports, including cash reconciliation reports, to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement, making recommendations to management as needed.
  • Process and maintain vendor files, including setup, updates, and payments, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and distribute 1099s to vendors, ensuring timely submission to the IRS.
  • Collaborate with IT and other City departments to develop and implement financial system control procedures.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of treasury systems, ensuring accurate and timely financial information.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues promptly and professionally.

Qualifications

  • Required: Associate degree in Accounting, MIS, Computer Science, or a related field and three (3) years progressively responsible accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
