Job Title: Clinician (BRU-Behavioral Response Unit)

We are seeking a skilled Clinician to join our Behavioral Response Unit (BRU) team at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health. As a Clinician, you will play a critical role in providing crisis intervention counseling and assessment services to individuals in need.

Job Summary:

The Clinician will work collaboratively with law enforcement and community partners to respond to mental health calls and provide crisis intervention services. This includes conducting assessments, developing safety plans, and connecting individuals with necessary resources and services.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct crisis intervention and safety planning to assist individuals in overcoming difficulties
  • Collaborate with other service providers to establish needed services for individuals and families
  • Provide education to family members and significant others regarding mental illness and how to support the individual
  • Provide flexible therapeutic and follow-up services with an interactive approach
  • Document therapeutic interventions in client records in a timely manner
  • Work independently and in a team setting during the treatment process
  • Ensure provision and coordination of services and appropriate discharge planning for all clients
  • Collaborate with other service providers to assist with monthly Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) for Orange County Sheriff's Office deputies and staff
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in the field of counseling, social work, or psychology
  • Two years' experience working directly with children and families (preferred)
  • Experience working with homeless, veteran, substance use, and severely mentally ill populations (preferred)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Successful completion of pre-employment medical screenings, including a drug test and TB test
