Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in the development of next-generation energy storage systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging with suppliers, developing performance modeling, and reviewing system electrical designs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with battery storage system BoS suppliers to drive integration efforts between Gotion's energy storage products and downstream equipment.
  • Develop and review performance modeling of LFP battery energy storage systems, and provide guidance to external customers in modeling methodologies.
  • Develop and review system electrical designs, including cable sizing, short circuit protection, component and system grounding, auxiliary system loading, etc.
  • Work with internal applications engineering team to support sales staff in providing robust energy storage system proposals and project designs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent, or other relevant engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical hardware integration, power converter design/testing, utility power distribution, or other relevant industry experience.
  • Prior work experience in energy storage, power distribution, solar or other renewable energy strongly preferred.
  • Working understanding of grid-tied energy storage system functions, performance modeling, BoS selection, and applicable standards including UL1973/1741/9540, NFPA70/NEC.
  • In-depth understanding of HV power electronic components (active and passive) and expertise in developing associated characterization/validation testing methods.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong preference for P.E. in electrical engineering, experience practicing in CA, IL, or NY.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, CATIA.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Advanced proficiency with MS O365 suite including SharePoint, Teams.
Compensation

The base pay range for this role is $70,000-$90,000 USD, and will depend on your skills, qualifications, experiences, and location.
