Admissions Coordinator Nurse

The Admissions Coordinator Nurse is responsible for ensuring seamless patient flow into acute care areas. This role involves conducting comprehensive nursing assessments, medication reconciliations, and facilitating patient placement while adhering to epidemiology standards.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate admissions and bed control activity
- Directly responsible for completing the nursing admission process; including admission assessment, interview, medication reconciliation, and education
- Facilitate patient flow into the acute care areas from the Emergency Department or from the Primary Care Physician
- A current Registered Nurse license from the State of Connecticut is required
- Bachelor's degree required
- Certification is highly desirable
- Five (5) years of RN experience is required
- Six (6) months at ECHN in the role of an RN is highly preferred
- Able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, are necessary
- Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members
The nurse works in a fast-paced environment, coordinating with various departments to ensure efficient patient flow. They must be able to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain a calm demeanor in high-pressure situations.
