About the Role

USA Health is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic II to join our team at the Children's and Women's Hospital. As a key member of our Facilities Management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including the maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment, plumbing systems, and HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment, including motors, generators, and related systems
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as chemical treatment tests for boilers and cooling water
  • Conduct construction, installation, repair, and alterations to building components, including brick, concrete, and other masonry materials
  • Operate power tools and equipment, such as lathes, drill presses, and welding rigs
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, families, and other hospital staff
  • Respond to overhead pages and utilize radio communication in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of maintenance activities
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and three years of experience in maintenance and repair of buildings, plumbing, or mechanical equipment
  • Experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education
  • Valid driver's license and a driving record sufficient to maintain insurance coverage under the University of South Alabama
