Role Overview

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient production of spacecraft and related systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate engineering intent into functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight.
  • Develop and support Space Systems Development programs, including creating build and flow documents, identifying tooling needs, and authoring work instructions.
  • Ensure build readiness, provide shipside/lineside support, and participate in anomaly investigations and root cause/corrective action analyses.
  • Generate non-conformance reports and manage their closure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience with aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle structures, automotive, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing, including working knowledge of GD&T.
  • Ability to develop processes compliant with industry quality systems such as AS9100.
  • Customer-focused with a proven ability to work cooperatively with teams of diverse skills across large geographic distances.

Additional Information

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. This position is supporting the Space Systems Development (SSD) business unit. SSD develops next-generation concepts and systems to advance our future of living and working in space sustainably.
