Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated 2nd Grade Lead Teacher to join our team at FirstLine Schools. As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for implementing the teaching curriculum, ensuring the success of our students, and working with a team of teachers within the school and network community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement engaging lesson plans that align with grade-level expectations and end-of-year assessments.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students, using scaffolded questions to clarify understanding and extend thinking.
  • Establish effective classroom routines and manage student behavior, redirecting inappropriate behavior when necessary.
  • Inspire students to achieve their goals, emphasizing the importance of effort and perseverance.
  • Prepare students to solve complex problems with no obvious answers.
  • Seek and respond to feedback from colleagues, engaging in problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of lead teaching experience, preferably in an urban, open admissions school.
  • Demonstrated success working with students in a challenging educational environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
  • Strong background in and command of content area.
  • Louisiana Teacher Certification or eligibility to hold.
