Job Title: Elementary Science/Social Studies Master Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Elementary Science/Social Studies Master Teacher to join our team at Algiers Charter School Association. As a Master Teacher, you will play a critical role in leading our teachers and students to achieve academic excellence.

Job Summary:

The Elementary Science/Social Studies Master Teacher will be responsible for leading cluster groups, providing exemplary lessons, coaching, and team teaching to career teachers. You will also spend approximately 2 hours per day teaching students and work closely with the principal to evaluate other teachers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze student data to identify student learning goals and develop a school academic achievement plan
  • Create a school assessment plan and monitor goal setting, activities, classroom follow-up, and goal attainment for cluster groups and Individual Growth Plans (IGPs)
  • Assess teacher evaluation results and maintain inter-rater reliability
  • Develop and implement cluster group plans, including weekly cluster group meeting records and activities with other members of the Leadership Team
  • Provide regular classroom teaching time and interact with students regularly
  • Manage teacher Individual Growth Plans, including developing goals, providing instructional interventions, and facilitating teacher proficiency
  • Conduct classroom evaluations and post-conferences for both formal and informal observations
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related area of study, required
  • Master's Degree in Education or related area of study, highly preferred
  • Two years of teaching experience preferred
  • Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate with Louisiana Certification, preferred
  • Proven record of high student achievement as listed on previous evaluations and Compass scores, highly preferred
