United Way Miami is seeking a Financial Empowerment Specialist to fulfill the financial coaching role within the United Way Center for Financial Stability and support integration with other United Way and community initiatives. The ideal candidate should possess strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. Excellent customer service skills and the capacity to work collaboratively in a team setting are essential. Proficiency in both written and spoken Spanish or Creole is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct services, including training and personalized coaching, aimed at enhancing financial literacy, altering financial behaviors, and achieving financial objectives.
  • Conduct and coordinate comprehensive assessments of individual and family clients.
  • Educate clients on the benefits of financial capability services and foster long-term coaching relationships.
  • Assist clients in recognizing and addressing current financial opportunities and challenges while providing a holistic view of financial stability to promote proactive financial management and long-term success.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop tailored financial stability plans, including goal-setting, budgeting, savings, credit enhancement, debt management, utilization of financial products, tax preparation, benefit screening, and employment services.
  • Identify and refer clients to additional community resources and services as necessary to meet their financial goals.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with key community resource providers, coordinating efforts to maximize client impact.
  • Review financial plans to identify needs and gaps.
  • Monitor and evaluate client progress through follow-ups.
  • Provide warm referrals to community resources and services, ensuring appropriate follow-up with clients and/or community partners.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and secure physical and electronic client files.
  • Track and compile service outcomes; prepare regular reports and provide information as needed.
  • Continuously learn new skills and techniques to enhance service quality and impact.
  • Collaborate with leadership to adapt coaching methods and tools for improved client and program outcomes.
  • Engage in outreach and attend events to promote services, recruit clients, and build partnerships.
  • Advocate for the United Way Center for Financial Stability within the Miami-Dade community, local businesses, and the social service sector.
  • Represent United Way at community meetings, conferences, and committees; participate in special events to support fundraising efforts.
  • All United Way staff are expected to be actively involved in the organization's crisis plan and response efforts, particularly during times of community need.

Education Requirements: A Bachelor's degree is required, with major coursework in business, management, social services, or related fields, or equivalent experience.

Experience Requirements: Proven experience and success in serving at-risk and/or low-to-moderate income populations. Comfortable communicating one-on-one and in small groups on various financial topics.

Other Requirements: Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is mandatory.
