Position Summary:

We are looking for a meticulous and dependable Staff Accountant to become a vital part of our finance team. The successful candidate will manage a range of accounting responsibilities, including ledger oversight, reconciliation, financial reporting, and compliance audits. Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of precise monthly financial statements, encompassing income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Account Reconciliation: Review bank statement reconciliations and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions in the general ledger.
  • Budgeting: Contribute to the budget preparation and financial forecasting processes.
  • Tax Compliance: Support the external preparation of tax returns and adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Audit Assistance: Aid in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with financial laws and regulations.
  • Accounts Management: Assist with accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of payments and collections.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct regular ledger maintenance and financial analysis to inform strategic financial decisions.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement opportunities for process enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy within the accounting department.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a staff accounting role.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in the construction or industrial sector is advantageous.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and databases (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines is essential.

This is a full-time role that may require additional hours during financial closing periods or audit seasons.
