Position Summary:
We are looking for a meticulous and dependable Staff Accountant to become a vital part of our finance team. The successful candidate will manage a range of accounting responsibilities, including ledger oversight, reconciliation, financial reporting, and compliance audits. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of precise monthly financial statements, encompassing income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Account Reconciliation: Review bank statement reconciliations and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions in the general ledger.
- Budgeting: Contribute to the budget preparation and financial forecasting processes.
- Tax Compliance: Support the external preparation of tax returns and adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Audit Assistance: Aid in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with financial laws and regulations.
- Accounts Management: Assist with accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of payments and collections.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct regular ledger maintenance and financial analysis to inform strategic financial decisions.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement opportunities for process enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy within the accounting department.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a staff accounting role.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in the construction or industrial sector is advantageous.
