We are seeking a highly skilled Career Development Advisor II to join our team at Georgia Tech. As a key member of our Career Center, you will play a vital role in assisting students in career planning, job search strategies, networking, and related pre-professional career development skills.
Key Responsibilities- Advise and assist students in identifying co-op, internship, and other experiential learning opportunities as well as post-graduation career opportunities.
- Confer with students individually to assist them in career skill development in such areas as establishing career plans, writing resumes and cover letters, preparing for interviews, and networking.
- Present and coordinate workshops, trainings, seminars, orientations sessions, and outreach on career-related subjects.
- Develop and teach courses and seminars on career development topics.
- Update and maintain student files and maintain consistent, timely, and professional correspondence with students.
- Operate as liaison between Career Center and assigned college or departments.
- Collect and report data in all relevant databases and systems.
- Create and generate annual and other reports as requested.
- Coordinate and participate fully in all programs, events, and other aspects of the unit, including trainings, outreach, center operations, and employer relations.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five to seven years of job-related experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
We also welcome applicants with:
- Licensed Professional Counselor certification.
- Master's Degree in a related field.
