Career Success Coach

The Career Success Coach is a collaborative professional who works closely with internal teams and external partners to provide students with intentional development opportunities that complement their academic journey. This includes career planning, resume building, interviewing and negotiation skills, and professional etiquette.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform career assessments and analyze results to ensure student awareness of and alignment with ATC programs and career endeavors.
  • Teach at least one section of the EMPL 1000, Employability Skills Course.
  • Develop career-related training modules for deployment through various mediums, such as Blackboard student learning communities, virtual meetings, and face-to-face workshops.
  • Maintain and implement intentional career journey student engagements, providing career coaching and occupational information, as well as tools and resources during each meeting.
  • Annotate student engagements and career coaching notes to ensure continuity of services.
  • Document career preparedness checklists for each student served to ensure progression toward post-graduation goals.
  • Provide cover letter and resume formatting guidance, mock interviewing sessions and feedback, professional etiquette coaching, and networking advice.
  • Remain knowledgeable of current local labor market information, including employers and industries within the region that align with ATC programs, skills and education required, and usual means of entry into area companies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and Two (2) years of related work experience.
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field required. Five years full-time professional level experience providing career coaching or counseling and/or as a human resource recruiter, benefits coordinator or other human resource professional in a post-secondary education environment.
