Terex Cranes, a leading manufacturer of lifting and material processing products, is seeking a Technical Applications Engineer to support the Tower Crane products line. This role is based in Wilmington, NC and requires a strong background in mechanical engineering and structural analysis.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist sales teams in selecting systems and configurations for customer requests.
- Evaluate tower crane configurations, loading, and climbing sequences for customers.
- Analyze special installations not covered by Cranes documentation.
- Provide customers with assessments, guidance, and repair procedures for damage and non-standard circumstances.
- Assist the service group in evaluating and guiding legacy tower, crawler, truck, and mobile crane service issues and special applications.
- Generate lift ratings for standard and special legacy crawler, truck, and mobile crane applications.
- Assist the parts group in sourcing, pricing, and evaluating materials, components, and special assemblies for current and legacy machines.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Structural Engineering or Civil.
- Competent in 2D CAD and 3D Solid Modelling software, ideally AutoCAD, Inventor, and NX.
- Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Working knowledge of weld procedures and materials selection.
- Ability to work independently and use available resources to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain complete confidentiality and discretion in business relationships.
