Overview:
The Lead Project Engineer is responsible for the strategic oversight of significant capital engineering initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project timelines, financial plans, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
- Lead and mentor project teams, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and standards.
- Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Provide technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle.

Technical Expertise:
Utilize extensive knowledge across engineering disciplines, manufacturing, and automation to address challenges in both new and existing production environments. Apply expertise in system engineering, electrical controls, material handling, and process equipment to determine the most suitable materials and methods for production needs.

Design and CAD Proficiency:
Employ CAD software for product and die design, as well as for the layout of new and existing equipment. Focus on enhancing safety, quality, productivity, reliability, and cost-effectiveness in all production activities.

Project Management:
- Lead the planning and execution of capital projects exceeding $5 million, both at the home facility and globally.
- Collaborate with external engineering firms for the design and construction of facilities and processes.
- Supervise both internal and contracted personnel during project execution.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure project objectives are met.

Operational Support:
Provide direct support for daily operations concerning all plant and process equipment. Design extrusion dies and equipment, and manage risk across the facility.

Equipment and Process Expertise:
- Design, specify, purchase, and install various production equipment, including layout planning for production areas.
- Implement modifications and enhancements to existing equipment as necessary.

Leadership and Team Development:
- Guide and mentor Project Engineers, providing direction to remote sites during project execution.
- Foster the development of less experienced engineers through mentorship.

Customer-Focused Product Design:
- Create custom design solutions for clients as required.
- Develop new extrusion dies and equipment to produce innovative products and geometries.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Materials Engineering or equivalent experience with a proven track record in leading major industrial project installations.
- A Master’s degree in engineering or business administration is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Manufacturing, Plant, or Industrial Engineer, specifically in major capital project planning and execution within a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
- 10 years of experience in manufacturing, Plant or Industrial Engineering, Automation, and Material Handling is preferred.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (25-30%).

Required Skills:

- Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including MS Project.
