About the Role:

This position provides essential administrative and customer service support for the Health and Human Services Department at St. Croix County. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, be proficient in modern office practices, and have excellent communication skills to interact effectively with staff, supervisors, and the public.

Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Serving as a receptionist, assisting visitors, and directing calls to appropriate resources.">
  • Performing general clerical duties, including typing, filing, photocopying, emailing, assembling packets, and preparing mail.">
  • Processing incoming and outgoing mail, generating correspondence, and managing postage.">
  • Receiving payments, balancing petty cash, and maintaining accurate records per financial policies.">
  • Requesting and managing office supplies, maintaining office equipment, and coordinating service needs.">
  • Staying current on EBS system changes, processing Medicare Part D documents, maintaining program data, and preparing reports.">
  • Maintaining information concerning EBS programs, inputting data into Federal websites, preparing Comparison Reports for EBS/DBS and clients, and maintaining EBS client files.">
  • Maintaining vehicle activity logs, reviewing, and editing for errors.">
  • Performing backup duties such as accepting paperwork/payments for economic support and providing backup coverage to all tasks required within the economic support reception guide.">
  • Creating public resource materials, processing program-specific data, and maintaining client records.">
  • Preparing and accurately completing documents, correspondence, and reports, and performing other administrative professional functions as related and necessary to meet the needs of customers and department.">
  • Coordinating training and travel reservations for staff.">
  • Assisting managers and colleagues with special projects and events as requested.">
  • Other duties as assigned.">

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.">
  • Two years' work experience in business office/administrative support positions are required.">
  • Must successfully pass criminal and caregiver background checks.">
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal forms.">
  • Proficient in workplace English, grammar, and spelling.">
  • Ability to explain information clearly to diverse audiences and read County policies, procedures, and manuals.">
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to define issues, exercise sound judgment, and develop effective solutions.">
  • Ability to maintain self-control, adapt to stressful situations, and work accurately with attention to detail.">
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.">
  • Ability to type accurately at a reasonable rate of speed.">
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and perform word processing and/or data entry.">
  • Ability to work the allocated hours of the position.">

Estimated Salary Range: $19.25 - $21.78
