Regional Education Facilitator

Denver, Colorado, United States Denver Public Schools Full time

EMILY GRIFFITH CAMPUS
0.01 FTE

As a Regional Education Facilitator, you will receive a stipend of $1,650.00, distributed in two payments.

To qualify for these stipend payments, you must be actively engaged in your role on the designated payment dates.

Stipend payments will not be adjusted based on your tenure.

About this position:
This role is designed for a Special Education Regional Team Facilitator (RTF).

The Special Education Regional Team Facilitator (RTF) is an educator who, in addition to delivering exceptional instruction in their own classroom, enhances their influence by coordinating collaborative sessions for a group of educators, fostering their ability to provide engaging, challenging, and tailored instruction that drives student success.

The RTF guides a cohort of educators in a specific subject area across various institutions, creating opportunities for collaboration that may not otherwise exist.

This may involve educators in Beyond the Common Core disciplines, as well as those teaching specialized subjects in their respective schools.

The RTF is responsible for leading and facilitating professional development sessions during designated Professional Learning Days and assumes an additional leadership role to support educator growth in their subject area.

Professional Learning Day sessions emphasize effective practices in assessment literacy and instructional strategies, particularly utilizing student work to inform the Student Learning Objectives (SLO) process and Data Driven Instruction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivates the capabilities of a team of educators in the same (or related) subject area, fostering a culture of ongoing learning that enhances staff and student morale and performance through the facilitation of collaborative time during three Professional Learning Days (three eight-hour sessions).
  • Collaborates with Content Coordinators and Curriculum & Instruction Partners to ensure that expectations, processes, and objectives for collaborative time align with team, school, and district goals.
  • Takes on an additional leadership role to bolster educator learning within their subject area.
Examples of potential responsibilities include:

  • Develop and manage online resources for educators (shared drive, website, etc.).
  • Lead an online Professional Learning Community (PLC) or discussion group during months when in-person meetings do not occur.
  • Partner with Content Coordinator/Specialist to plan and facilitate two professional learning sessions outside of the RTF-supported Professional Learning Days.
  • Lead a Professional Development Unit (PDU) for a minimum of 10 participants in the subject area (PDU subject to approval; RTF must apply to be a PDU leader and be accepted to receive additional leader stipend).
  • Collaborate with Content Coordinator/Specialist to plan and facilitate two Learning Labs each semester.
  • Work with Content Coordinator/Specialist to plan and support citywide events.
  • Prepare and present at educational technology summits.
  • Facilitate CareerConnect Industry Summits, connecting educators with industry professionals and enabling meaningful collaborative time.
  • The RTF does not receive release time for this leadership role, but is expected to plan and deliver content outside of their regular teaching responsibilities.
The flexibility of the role should be tailored based on educator needs, and an RTF prepares for and leads regional team meetings on designated Professional Learning Days.

RTFs also have planning and preparation time with Content Coordinators and Instructional Curriculum Specialists, which includes contact time during the summer and academic year.

We are enthusiastic about you because you will:

  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field.
  • Meet all licensure and certification requirements for teaching roles.
  • Hold a teaching position evaluated through established performance metrics and be responsible for student outcomes.
  • Participate in mandatory training sessions throughout the summer and academic year.
  • Advocate for racial and educational equity and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity, ensuring all students feel valued and have access to high-quality education.
  • Reside and work within the state while fulfilling your role.
  • Be capable of meeting the physical demands of the position with or without accommodations.

What We Offer:

  • A culture that prioritizes Equity, Accountability, Integrity, Collaboration, and Enjoyment, with a shared vision that every student will succeed.
  • The individual in this role will receive an annual stipend of $1,650, in addition to their full teaching salary.
  • Our total rewards package includes time off, health and wellness benefits, and retirement plans.
