Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional customer service abilities, which are crucial for success in this role. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, along with excellent organizational capabilities and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Proficiency in grammar and editing is required. Familiarity with courtroom operations, legal terminology, and the interrelation of various clerk's office processes is advantageous but not mandatory. Attention to detail is a vital skill for this position.

The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in automated computer systems, including Word, Outlook, CM/ECF, PACER, and other data entry applications. A minimum of one year of experience at a lower classification level is necessary to be considered for advancement. While a bachelor's degree is preferred, an associate degree is mandatory. A paralegal degree or relevant paralegal experience is also a plus. The successful applicant should maintain a professional demeanor and appearance suitable for a court environment.

The selected individual will undergo an FBI fingerprint check as a condition of employment and may be subject to periodic updates.

Specialized Experience

Applicants should have progressively responsible clerical or administrative experience that involves the regular application of clerical procedures. This experience should demonstrate the ability to apply a body of rules, regulations, directives, or laws, along with routine use of specialized terminology and automated software for word processing, data entry, or report generation. Such experience is typically found in law firms, legal counsel offices, banking institutions, educational organizations, social service agencies, insurance companies, real estate offices, and corporate human resources or payroll departments.

Benefits

The compensation and classification level will be determined based on the successful candidate's work experience, qualifications, and salary history. To qualify at a CL 24 level, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to work at the CL 23 level. Similarly, to qualify at a CL 25, one year of specialized experience equivalent to CL 24 is required, and for CL 26, one year of specialized experience equivalent to CL 25 is necessary.
