We are seeking a skilled Platform Architect who will play a crucial role in enhancing the architectural framework of our platforms. This individual will utilize their extensive technical knowledge to support various enterprise platforms, ensuring alignment with business goals and driving the architectural strategy to fulfill organizational needs.

The ideal candidate will have a robust background in event-driven architecture, particularly with Kafka, and proven experience in designing and implementing solutions within the Azure cloud ecosystem. Proficiency in OpenShift and Kubernetes for managing containerized applications is essential, along with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities in e-commerce retail. Experience in optimizing systems for both web and mobile applications is also highly valued.

This position requires a forward-thinking leader capable of transforming complex business requirements into scalable, high-performance architectural solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate with diverse teams to ensure the platform evolves in alignment with the strategic objectives of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and sustain the architectural framework for the platform.
  • Identify opportunities for ongoing enhancement and innovation.
  • Establish the platform strategy to align with overarching business objectives.
  • Create a roadmap for the platform that supports the overall business strategy.
  • Ensure the platform effectively meets organizational needs.
  • Support multiple value streams by providing comprehensive context and requirements for solutions.
  • Oversee the platform by architecting comprehensive technological solutions across various domains.
  • Act as a technical consultant for peer groups regarding platform integration.
  • Serve as a knowledge leader on the interplay of various technological components to deliver desired functionalities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience and technical training.
  • Preferred certifications include any SAFe certification (SSM, SASM, SA, SPC, SPMPO) and ITIL Foundations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in platform design, development, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies is essential; cross-functional experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience in advancing platforms through continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in technical teams.
  • Experience with the Scaled Agile framework is preferred.
  • Ability to drive the transformation and management of one or more technology platform architectures.
  • Identify and assess platform risks to establish mitigation strategies.
  • Expertise in various technical platforms and technologies, including cloud-based and distributed computing.
  • Experience with diverse technical configurations and processing environments.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all components of a technical architecture.
  • Ability to grasp both long-term and short-term perspectives in various situations.
  • Translate business requirements into technical architecture specifications.
  • Design solutions that are simple, resilient, maintainable, and adaptable.
  • Maintain the stability and usability of the platform across different environments.
  • Collaborate with team members to establish best practices and software requirements.
  • Adopt a proactive approach to common challenges by researching best practices.
  • Manage security aspects, including user access and administration.
  • Provide configuration support to developers.
  • Ensure platform alignment with business strategies.
  • Possess a broad knowledge of technologies and platforms.
  • Communicate IT requirements and guidelines to vendor partners.
  • Evaluate the financial implications of technical architecture options.
  • Apply various technical solutions to address business challenges.
  • Quickly understand the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
