Job Title: Patient Transporter

Sentara Healthcare is seeking a Patient Transporter to join our team at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia.

Job Summary:

The Patient Transporter will safely escort and transport patients within all areas of the hospital using safe body mechanics. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities:
  • Escort and transport patients safely and efficiently
  • Communicate clearly with patients, staff, and visitors
  • Ensure adequate communication of information between Central Transport and other departments
  • Adhere to all safety rules and initiatives of Sentara
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
  • Experience in patient care or a related field
