Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Banking Professional to join our team at Local Government Federal Credit Union. As a key member of our branch staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional member service and support.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Member Service: Provide personalized solutions and create memorable interactions with members to exceed their expectations.
  2. Relationship Building: Foster relationships with current and potential members to increase their financial well-being.
  3. Problem-Solving: Exhibit adept recognition and adjustment to member needs while employing active listening techniques to effectively de-escalate member concerns.
  4. Operational Support: Maintain and balance assigned cash drawer daily, while following operational procedures and cash limits.
  5. Transaction Processing: Accurately process member transaction requests and respond to member inquiries via various channels in a timely manner.
  6. Lobby Support: Provide lobby support and maintain a strong knowledge of products and services available to Civic members, including current promotions.
  7. Account Opening: Assist with in-person opening of deposit and loan accounts by ensuring all information is received timely and accurately processed.
  8. Loan Services: Explain loan programs to member, evaluate their needs and recommend loan options. Complete member and loan applications and escalate to the lending department as necessary.
  9. Process Improvement: Participate in beta-testing for possible workflow and process improvement and provide feedback to internal/external resources as needed.
  10. Digital Solutions: Educate members on digital solutions by providing self-service alternatives to manage finances at their convenience.
  11. Team Collaboration: Participate in required meetings and trainings while promoting a positive team environment. Shares knowledge of member feedback and effective practices.
  12. Regulatory Compliance: Comply with regulation, policies, procedure and operational guidelines. Proactively assesses and mitigates operational risks, ensuring compliance with regulations, audit requests and implements security measures when appropriate.
Requirements
  1. Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of banking/member service experience.
  2. Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  3. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
  4. Customer Service Skills: Demonstrated strong customer service skills.
  5. Notary Public: Notary Public in North Carolina, or ability to achieve in the first 6 months of employment.
  6. Technical Skills: PC proficient, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) and the Internet.
  7. Physical Demands: Ability to function in a Consumer business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer printer).
  8. Travel: Travel required on occasion.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Credit Union Experience: Credit Union member service experience.
  2. Financial Knowledge: Knowledge of financial products and services, mobile and on-line banking a plus.
