At the University of Virginia Health Development Office, we are seeking a highly skilled Associate and/or Senior Associate Director, Philanthropic Partnerships, Cancer Programs to join our collaborative and enthusiastic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Honor the Future campaign and advancing the philanthropic priorities of UVA Health.

Job Overview

We are looking for an exceptional individual with a strong background in healthcare, fundraising, or faculty-related experience. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing high-level relationships, identifying and cultivating prospective donors, and developing effective fundraising strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Donor Identification and Cultivation: Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects and donors to support UVA Health's philanthropic priorities.
  • Fundraising Strategies: Develop and implement tailored fundraising strategies to meet established goals and objectives.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with healthcare providers, faculty, administrators, donors, and development colleagues.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least four years of experience in healthcare, fundraising, or faculty-related roles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and respect with diverse stakeholders.
  • High emotional intelligence, empathy, and ability to relate to healthcare providers.
  • Highest ethical standards and attention to confidentiality when handling donor and patient information.
Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will also possess:

  • Robust understanding of principles of healthcare, philanthropy, higher education, and relationship management.
  • Knowledge of current best practices in grateful patient fundraising.
  • Previous work experience in an academic medical center or healthcare environment.
Benefits and Salary

This is an exempt level, benefited position with a salary range of $75K - $85K (Associate Director) or $85K - $95K (Senior Associate Director), depending on experience and qualifications. The University offers a flexible and hybrid workplace, and all team members must have access to and maintain a secure home office environment with high-speed internet service.
