Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced instructor to join our Neurodiversity Navigators program as an adjunct faculty member. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching and supporting neurodivergent students, as well as a passion for promoting equity and inclusion in higher education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach one or more academic classes in the Neurodiversity Navigators program, including EXPRL 180, 181, 182, 280, and 281.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that engage students actively in their own learning and assist students in achieving learning outcomes.
  • Foster a positive, caring, and equitable learning environment for a diverse student population.
  • Assess student learning and provide timely written and verbal feedback.
  • Contribute to ongoing curriculum development, assessment, and revision through inter- and intra-departmental cooperation and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in Education, Disability Studies, Social Work, Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, or other related field.
  • Two years of experience teaching in a post-secondary or secondary environment.
  • Experience working with and supporting neurodivergent students and other underrepresented populations.
  • Personal lived experience within neurodivergent or autistic communities.
  • Background that shows willingness to engage in professional development activities and a dedication to closing achievement gaps.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in learner-centered teaching and collaborative learning.
  • Demonstrated background or prior experience in equity, fairness, and inclusive pedagogy.
  • Experience working within a social justice model of disability.
  • Experience working within a growth mindset, strengths-based model of disability.
