Job Description

We are seeking a talented Multimodal Research Scientist to join our Llama Large Language Model (LLM) Research team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in vision encoders, data filtering/curation for pre and post-training, reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF), responsible AI, and model controllability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute research projects that push forward the state of the art in multimodal reasoning and generation research.
  • Work towards long-term ambitious research goals, identifying intermediate milestones and contributing to experiments.
  • Directly contribute to experimental design, writing reusable code, running evaluations, and organizing results.
  • Collaborate with a large team and mentor other members.
  • Contribute to publications and open-sourcing efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in AI, preferably in an industry, faculty, or government researcher position.
  • Publications in machine learning, computer vision, NLP, or audio.
  • Experience writing software and executing complex experiments involving large AI models and datasets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in generative AI and LLM research.
  • First author publications experience at peer-reviewed AI conferences.
  • Fluency in Python and PyTorch.

Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is $177,000 to $251,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
