Job Title: Photographer Correspondent

The New York Times is seeking an experienced photojournalist to join our esteemed team. As a key member of our newsroom, you will be responsible for capturing high-quality visual content that tells the stories of our readers.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute innovative visual storytelling strategies to engage our audience.
  • Collaborate with reporters and editors to create immersive and sophisticated visual-driven stories.
  • Produce high-quality photography and video content, including stills, video, and interactive digital formats.
  • Conduct thorough research and planning to ensure accurate and informative storytelling.
  • Work closely with senior editors and security advisers to ensure safety protocols are followed in the field.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of photojournalism experience.
  • A strong portfolio of published work demonstrating excellence in visual storytelling.
  • Experience reporting and photographing in complex breaking news situations under intense deadlines and logistical pressure.
  • Excellent technical and editorial skills, including proficiency in photo and video editing software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Keen editorial news judgment and firm grasp of journalistic ethics.
  • Strong reporting and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Interest in innovation and ongoing development of technical and aesthetic elements of visual journalism.
