Overview
NewBoCo is a Cedar Rapids-based non-profit that supports entrepreneurship, innovation, and tech education. Our mission is to make Iowa more resilient to economic change by fostering a diverse and inclusive ecosystem. We are seeking an Events Coordinator to join our team and contribute to this mission. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing events that promote entrepreneurship and computer science education in Iowa. Your exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders will enable you to deliver high-quality experiences for attendees, sponsors, and partners. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a yearly event calendar of mission-aligned events
  • Provide vision and leadership for all NewBoCo events
  • Represent NewBoCo at local, regional, and national events to identify best practices and extend the NewBoCo brand
  • Accountable for execution of regular weekly events held in the NewBoCo building as well as statewide annual events and NewBoCo's largest event, EntreFEST
  • Coordinate efforts with Marketing and Development teams for communication and sponsor support
  • Every other aspect of producing the event: logistics, venues, building the schedule, technology, supplies, communication, marketing, media inquiries
  • Assist in recruiting speakers, presenters, and keynotes
  • Attend and support event operations, including registration, wayfinding, and onsite problem solving
  • Post-event teardown: clean up after events, putting supplies away, identifying supplies that need to be restocked; ensure correct capture and management of registration and other data

The estimated salary for this position is $62,500 - $72,500 per year, commensurate with experience.
