Broadcast Operations Technician
Hearst Television is seeking an experienced Operations Technician to maintain the technical integrity of our on-air signals and equipment. As a key member of our team, you will support all station efforts in-house and on remote locations. You will report to the Newscast Technician Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate robotic cameras and studio floor directing to ensure seamless live broadcasts.
- Maintain the appearance of studios, including cleaning of sets and floors, to create a professional environment.
- Collaborate with the technical team to maintain and understand lighting grids and control boards.
- Dress microphones and IFB's for all on-camera appearances to ensure high-quality audio.
- Utilize basic multimedia computer skills and familiarity with current internet technology to download materials for promos and commercial client spots.
- Support promotional efforts at station-sponsored community events as assigned.
- Work in the control room in technical positions, including camera control, audio, and TD.
- Contribute to non-linear editing for TV News-Creative Services Productions.
- 2+ years of experience working as an operations technician at a commercial television station with experience operating different broadcast equipment.
- A solid background in operation of broadcast television systems and equipment.
- Related military experience will be considered.
- In-person attendance is required.
