Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Clinician to join our team at the Brien Center for Mental Health. As an Adult Community Crisis Stabilization Clinician, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive assessments, brief crisis counseling, and individualized risk management to individuals in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Duties: Provide comprehensive assessments, brief crisis counseling, and individualized risk management to individuals in need.
  • Specialized Assessment and Intervention: Conduct specialized assessments and interventions as assigned.
  • Crisis Management: Manage crisis situations and other crises as assigned.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate and communicate with Brien Center colleagues, and other service organizations in the community.
  • Case Management: Provide case management and follow-up services for individuals admitted to Adult CCS.
  • Authorization and Utilization Review: Obtain authorization, utilization review, and collaborate with insurance companies as needed.
  • Respectful Treatment: Treat patients and referral sources in a respectful and caring manner.
  • Referrals: Make referrals upon discharge from Adult CCS.
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Record Keeping: Maintain clear and legible client records and complete documentation in a timely manner.
  • Clinical Supervision: Attend and participate in clinical supervision on a regular basis.
  • Staff Meetings and Trainings: Attend staff meetings and agency trainings as scheduled.
  • Provider Meetings and Case Supervision: Attend provider meetings and case supervision with direct care/community providers as directed or assigned.
  • Training and Oversight: Provide training to new employees as directed or assigned, and provide oversight to student interns as directed or assigned.
  • Shift Coverage: Cover shifts as assigned.
  • Program Development: Participate in program development and CQI/QA projects.
  • Case Supervision: Participate in case supervision.
Professional Responsibilities
  • Policy Adherence: Follow and adhere to the policies and procedures of the Acute Care Division and the Brien Center.
  • Professional Standards: Maintain ethical and professional standards.
  • Community Representation: Represent the Brien Center in a professional manner in all community contacts.
  • Mission Commitment: Demonstrate a commitment to the Brien Center's mission and community mental health principles.
  • Flexibility: Flexibly respond to program needs.
  • Teamwork: Work cooperatively with other staff and team members.
Qualifications
  • Education: PhD, MSW, or Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling, or other equivalent graduate clinical degree.
  • Licensure: LCSW, LICSW, LMHC required within 6 months of eligibility date.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of clinical experience preferred.
  • Driver's License: Must have a valid driver's license.
Skills
  • Communication: Excellent oral and presentation skills.
  • Leadership: Leadership talent and ability to think quickly and determine and implement clinical decisions.
  • Computer Proficiency: Proficient knowledge of computers.
  • DSM V Knowledge: Knowledge of DSM V.
  • Community Resources: Knowledge of community resources.
