Job Title: Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our Biological Materials, Analytical and Biosynthesis Team through the New Materials Institute. The successful candidate will provide technical support and collaborate with team members involved in microbial strain development, microbial fermentation, and analytical services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in microbial strain development, microbial fermentation, and laboratory experiments
  • Provide technical support in areas of microbial isolation, microbial genetics, fermentation, degradation, and disintegration of polymers
  • Conduct analytical services, including respirometry, sample disintegration analysis, and polymer analytical methods
  • Order and maintain laboratory supplies and equipment
  • Perform data analysis and report generation from experiments
Requirements:
  • Technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate
  • Interest in microbiology and applied chemistry
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, drive to pick up samples and supplies, and sit for long periods of time
