The Culinary Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the back-of-house operations and is accountable for delivering top-quality cuisine that aligns with Ted's brand and standards.
This position also involves collaborating with the Executive Chef to achieve financial objectives, including managing labor and food costs.
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations is essential, as is the training and development of the culinary team to foster a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and oversee kitchen staff while upholding Ted's standards.
- Lead by example, actively participating in kitchen operations during peak times to ensure adherence to recipes and standards.
- Monitor food quality and safety, minimizing waste and managing inventory effectively.
- Train and mentor kitchen personnel while promoting a supportive work environment.
- Provide coaching and feedback to team members, including documentation when necessary.
- Conduct inventory assessments and manage product ordering.
- Assist the Executive Chef in meeting company goals related to standards, costs, and labor.
- Ensure proper food storage and quality standards, focusing on consistency and presentation.
- Understand and implement food allergy protocols and accommodate special requests.
- Communicate maintenance and repair needs to the appropriate manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year in a kitchen management role.
- Strong knowledge of sanitation standards.
- Ability to understand and positively influence financial outcomes.
- Proven experience in hiring, training, and leading a diverse team.
- Effective communication skills to build relationships with peers and leadership.
- Preferred: College degree or certification in the culinary field.
- Willingness to work extended hours as needed.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 100 pounds.
