ROLE SUMMARY:

The Early Childhood Education Facilitator will support the planning, development, and execution of educational activities for infants, toddlers, or preschoolers. This role necessitates direct, in-person leadership. Work hours may vary, typically requiring flexibility between early morning and evening.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Site Coordinator in creating and leading daily educational plans.
  • Engage actively with children during classroom activities.
  • Facilitate communication with parents on a daily basis.
  • Prepare necessary materials for daily lessons.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and schedules.
  • Ensure the safety and supervision of children at all times.
  • Support the Site Supervisor during parent-teacher meetings as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with the teaching team.

Perform any additional tasks deemed necessary for the efficient operation of the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids.

COMPENSATION:

$18.28 per hour; available as Part-Time (25 hours/week) or Full-Time (40 hours/week).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred qualifications include an Associate's degree or CDA, or proof of enrollment in a CDA or college-level program; three to six months of childcare experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates should possess the ability to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds and have a passion for working with young children.

CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Blood Borne Pathogen training.
  • CPR Certification within the first 60 days.
  • First Aid Certification within the first 60 days.
  • State of Michigan criminal background clearance.
  • Fingerprinting.
  • DHS clearance.
  • Negative T.B. skin test.
  • Documentation of a physical exam.
