Early Childhood Education Lead Teacher

The YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids is seeking a highly qualified Early Childhood Education Lead Teacher to lead our 3-year-old preschool programs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing classroom activities that promote learning and development in young children.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development: Plan and lead daily lesson plans that align with the YMCA's educational goals and objectives.
- Classroom Management: Organize and participate in games and activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development in children.
- Communication: Provide weekly lesson plans to parents and maintain open communication with them regarding their child's progress.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of attendance, arrival and departure times, and other relevant information.
- Supervision: Maintain supervision of children at all times and ensure their safety and well-being.
- Parent-Teacher Conferences: Conduct annual parent-teacher conferences to discuss each child's progress and set goals for future development.
- Supply Management: Maintain the quality and quantity of supplies, equipment, and materials in the classroom.
- Discipline: Discipline children in a fair and consistent manner and recommend or initiate other measures to control behavior.
- Parent Concerns: Handle parent concerns in a professional and respectful manner.
- Education: Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: Six months to one year of experience in childcare or early childhood education; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certifications: Blood Borne Pathogen training, CPR Certification, First Aid Certification, State of Michigan criminal background clearance (ICHAT), Fingerprinting, DHS clearance, and Negative T.B. skin test.
- Compensation: $20.54 per hour; Full-Time; Non-Exempt (40 hours/week)
