JOB SUMMARY
Cresco Labs is in search of a Senior Vice President of Retail Operations to become a vital part of our corporate team. As a key member of the Sunnyside* Retail Leadership Team, the SVP of Retail Operations will play a crucial role in the strategic planning, execution, and ongoing management of Sunnyside* dispensaries. This position will oversee new store launches, market integrations, and significant renovations.
CORE JOB DUTIES
- Provide comprehensive leadership and ensure timely execution of Sunnyside retail expansion initiatives, including new store openings, rebranding efforts, enhancements to existing locations, and mergers and acquisitions.
- Direct the seamless integration of essential functional workstreams and deliverables, such as construction, real estate, marketing, IT, HR, security, compliance, and government relations, to ensure projects are completed on schedule; clarify key trade-offs and decisions impacting revenue, costs, and business outcomes.
- Oversee the successful launch of new stores and the completion of significant projects, ensuring adherence to all state regulations and compliance standards, alongside the implementation of Sunnyside's visual and design guidelines.
- Accountable for the execution of visual and design standards, budget management, and vendor relationships across the Sunnyside network, balancing the need for consistency with local community considerations.
- Collaborate with brand marketing and store design teams to enhance brand representation and improve customer experiences.
- Act as a primary retail representative during due diligence phases with the M&A team, contributing to business case drafts and initial assessments of capital expenditure needs, revenue projections, and compliance requirements.
- Anticipate market trends and articulate a vision that fosters competitive and innovative strategies, clearly linking vision to actionable plans.
- Engage with cross-functional leaders and peers to ask insightful questions, gather data from various sources, identify root causes, and evaluate pros and cons to inform decision-making.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS
- 10+ years of experience in dynamic retail development with multi-unit oversight; experience in the cannabis sector is advantageous.
- Proficient in MS Office, with advanced skills in MS Excel and Tableau.
- Strategic thinker capable of adapting focus areas, making informed decisions under pressure through analysis and sound judgment.
- Ability to identify market trends and seize opportunities within the cannabis industry, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning.
- Experience in building and managing diverse teams, fostering a shared objective.
- Leadership approach emphasizing collaboration, open dialogue, and shared successes in a team environment.
