As a dental hygienist, your primary responsibilities will include conducting initial patient screenings, cleaning teeth, and advising patients on oral health and preventative care. You'll work closely with dentists to decide on treatments for teeth or gum diseases.

To be successful in this role, you'll need to be reliable, have excellent communication skills, and be able to build trust with patients of all ages. You'll also need to have a deep knowledge of health and safety regulations, as well as a keen eye for oral diseases and anomalies.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring patients feel comfortable before their examination
  • Sterilizing dental instruments properly
  • Conducting initial mouth screenings and checking oral health history
  • Identifying conditions like gingivitis, caries, or periodontitis
  • Cleaning and protecting patients' teeth
  • Educating patients on proper teeth care
  • Providing instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures
  • Taking X-rays or dental impressions
  • Assisting dentists with selecting treatments for various diseases
  • Maintaining documentation and charts on each patient
  • Monitoring supplies

Requirements include:

  • Dental Hygiene license required
  • Proven experience as a dental hygienist or similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • A patient and friendly personality
  • Attention to detail
  • Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
  • Diploma in Dental Hygiene (preferred)

Pay: $55.00 - $75.00 per hour
