At U.S. Farathane, we are seeking a highly skilled Quality Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining an effective quality system, ensuring optimal levels of quality, productivity, and safety. This role will involve reviewing customer and engineering requirements, ensuring compliance with APQP and PPAP activities, and administering direct supervisory responsibility for the plant quality department team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review customer and engineering requirements to ensure successful new production launch by compliance to APQP and PPAP activities.
  • Administer direct supervisory responsibility for the plant quality department team, including selection, hiring, training, performance evaluations, and work schedule.
  • Ensure the purchase product in process or finished is inspected according to the procedures established in the QMS.
  • Educate, train, and coach employees by identifying relevant quality training needs.
  • Member of the APQP project teams with responsibility to contribute to the successful launch of projects.
  • Develop and lead best practices and Lessons Learned to the plant level.
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement efforts companywide in order to improve the overall quality while improving efficiency and productivity.
  • Track the QMS required quality metrics and develop action plans to achieve green metrics.
  • Review customer complaints and initiate effective root cause analysis and irreversible corrective actions to prevent recurrence and satisfy the customer.

Leadership:

  • Drive and support plant activities toward achieving customer certifications and industry quality registrations.
  • Oversee the activities of required customer actions to assure timely and proper responses.

Quality Management System:

  • Drive overall plant integration and implementation of the USF QMS to prevent defects and satisfy customer requirements.
  • Serve as a driver and coordinator for internal quality system audits and corresponding corrective action and improvement activities.

Management:

  • Report abnormal quality KPIs and customer scorecards and their related corrective/preventive actions to General Manager and Corporate Quality.
  • Work closely with other managers to address the day-to-day problems and opportunities to review and improve product and process quality.
  • Occasionally travel to customer assembly plants to review products and interact with customer personnel.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Plant Level Quality management experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Plastics injection molding and assembly background preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent standing or walking for long periods of time.
  • Frequent lifting or lowering objects up to 35lbs.
  • Frequent reaching above/below shoulder and forward.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, and crouching.

Working Conditions:

  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee must not wear any loose-fitting clothing that may get in the way of the moving machinery.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Employee may be required to work outside for short periods of time.
