Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Trade Compliance Specialist to join our team at FedEx Ground. As a Trade Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that all import and export transactions are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide impeccable customer service and respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release from various sources, including databases, SOPs, tariff books, the internet, and customs regulations.
  • Process and manage various import-related documentation for submission to US Customs, including PGA (Participating Government Agencies) management.
  • Maintain and keep current all shipment documentation in compliance with all record-keeping requirements.
  • Adhere to all international importing regulations and ensure that all shipments are properly cleared through customs.
  • Collaborate closely with other internal staff and departments to deliver a high level of service to customers.
  • Process agency brokerage shipments and ensure that all government and organizational policies are followed.
  • Perform data entry and processing tasks, including keyboard experience.
  • Required skills include MS Office, Outlook, and Office equipment (phone, fax, photocopier, printer, scanner).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for this role.
  • Organizational skills, inter-personal skills, and the ability to work independently with minimum supervision are also required.
  • The ability to manage high volumes of work and handle time-sensitive tasks is crucial for this position.
  • Interact with internal staff, management of all levels, and internal departments.

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • No industry experience required.
  • No work experience required.
  • Data entry/keyboard experience required.
  • Required - MS Office, Outlook, Office equipment (phone, fax, photocopier, printer, scanner).
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Organizational Skills.
  • Inter-personal skills.
  • Handle high volume of work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Position will report to office location at Aviation Drive in Indianapolis.
  • Monday through Friday 7pm - 3:30am.
