Job Title: Executive Chef

About the Role:

Rittenhouse Village at Portage is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing food services policies, procedures, and job descriptions.

Responsibilities:

  • Menu Planning and Development: Develop and implement menus and menu cycles that cater to cultural and regional food preferences, as well as resident dietary guidelines.
  • Food Quality and Safety: Monitor the quality and consistency of food, including food temperatures, portion control, palatability, and attractiveness of food. Implement changes to ensure quality according to established standards.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure they are following established procedures and protocols.
  • Inventory Management: Order food and chemical supplies for the kitchen, receive and validate all food deliveries against order forms, and conduct regular inventory checks.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular Quality Assurance Audits to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Leadership and Communication: Provide leadership and guidance to kitchen staff, and communicate effectively with other departments to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in culinary arts or related field, and a minimum of 5 years of management experience in a food service environment.
  • Food Safety Training: Must have successfully completed food safety training.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Ability to lead and motivate kitchen staff, and communicate effectively with other departments.
  • Organizational and Time Management Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
