Role Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Researcher to join our dynamic team focused on child and youth development through evidence-based practices in educational settings. The successful candidate will engage in a variety of research initiatives aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of interventions and promoting the integration of proven strategies within the educational landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement primarily quantitative research methodologies, contributing significantly to the development of study designs and analytical techniques.
  • Engage in ongoing major research projects while also providing insights into new research directions.
  • Propose innovative ideas and projects that will enrich the Center's research initiatives.
  • Assist in translating research findings into practical applications, including the preparation of manuscripts, summaries, and presentations for diverse audiences.
  • Identify potential funding sources and assist in the creation of grant proposals.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance the relevance and impact of the Center's research endeavors.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in educational research, developmental psychology, sociology, economics, or related social sciences.
  • Strong familiarity with educational data and a solid understanding of the K-12 education system in the U.S.
  • Experience with quantitative methodologies and qualitative analysis techniques.
  • Proficient in handling large datasets and conducting primary data collection through various methods.
  • Skilled in analyzing quantitative data using software such as Stata or SPSS, and qualitative data using tools like Atlas-ti or NVivo.
  • Ability to translate research outcomes into actionable insights.

Preferred Experience:

  • 1-3 years of postdoctoral experience.
  • Knowledge of causal inference techniques.
  • Experience with peer-reviewed publications.

  • Adaptable and flexible in approach.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with keen attention to detail.
