Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist to provide exceptional care to patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).

As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation)
  • Oversee other assigned team members and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide population-specific care in accordance with the BORN regulations and professional standards of care
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Contribute to a positive and respectful work environment by promoting open communication, empathy, and teamwork

Requirements:

  • Current MA RN license
  • Minimum of 2-3 years nursing experience
  • PACU experience required
  • ICU experience preferred
  • CPR Training required within first 3 months of employment
  • Evidence of continued education and professional development
  • Certification or advanced training in specialty area preferred

Physical Environment:

The RN works in a variety of patient care environments where there may be exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials such as chemotherapeutic agents, radioisotopes, and radiation.

Caring for patients also involves exposure to human waste and other unpleasant elements. Other duties may include general cleaning with exposure to dirt, odors, cramped quarters, etc. RN's may work with angry, agitated, and combative patients.
