About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Judicial Law Clerk to join our team at the U.S. Courts. As a Judicial Law Clerk, you will provide critical support to senior judges in the review of Board decisions and the development of legal opinions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist senior judges in the review of Board decisions and the development of legal opinions
  • Conduct research and analysis on complex legal issues
  • Prepare written briefs and other legal documents
  • Participate in oral arguments and other court proceedings
  • Provide administrative support to senior judges and the court
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in the judiciary or practicing veterans law
  • Strong academic background, including a juris doctor (J.D.) degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop well-reasoned opinions
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Standing within the upper third of the law school class from a law school on the approved list of the American Bar Association
  • Experience on the law review or journal of such a school
  • Participation in a moot court competition
  • Participation in a veterans law clinic or veterans law classes
