Job Summary

The U.S. Judicial Branch is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing laws and regulations, protecting the Supreme Court, its employees, and visitors, and providing a range of police services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce Federal and District of Columbia laws and regulations
  • Protect the Supreme Court, its employees, and visitors
  • Provide a range of police services, including patrol, investigation, and emergency response
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to ensure public safety
  • Participate in training and professional development to maintain proficiency in law enforcement skills
Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship by birth or naturalization
  • Age 21-39 (with some exceptions)
  • Associate's degree or higher from an accredited institution (or being within six months of graduation)
  • Minimum one year of full-time experience as a sworn police officer
  • Minimum three years of active duty military service (or one year of active duty military service for Military Police, Master-at-Arms, Security Forces, and Maritime Enforcement Specialists)
  • Excellent driving record and ability to drive for at least one year at the time of application
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, including employment references, driving history, credit history, and criminal history
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in law enforcement or a related field
  • Knowledge of Federal and District of Columbia laws and regulations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
