The Field Service Technician role is designed for individuals with advanced mechanical skills to effectively meet the operational demands of the branch in a professional, safe, and timely manner.

This position requires a master technician who not only possesses extensive product knowledge but also represents Herc Rentals with professionalism at all times.

The technician is expected to maintain a high standard of quality in all tasks performed.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, equipment lubrication, tire replacements, hose repairs, and battery replacements.
2. Diagnose and repair heavy machinery to ensure optimal performance at job sites.
3. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fuel systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and propane systems.
4. Recondition and replace various components to restore equipment to safe operating conditions.
5. Educate clients on the proper usage of equipment to prevent future malfunctions.

6. Assess equipment for wear and tear, addressing issues to ensure proper function until the next scheduled maintenance.

7. Comply with all safety protocols at active job sites.
8. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
9. Generate detailed service reports and repair logs in a timely manner.
10. Adhere to company procedures and protocols.
11. Foster positive relationships with clients.
12. Perform additional tasks as required.
Professional Experience:
Ability to interpret detailed technical schematics, owner manuals, and product safety labels.
Ownership of a comprehensive set of hand and air/electric tools necessary for repairs and services.

Capability to operate and test various equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, compressors, and generators.

A valid driver's license is required.
Availability for on-call support to meet operational needs.
Educational Background:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Skills:
1. Proficient in operating multiple types of vehicles and equipment.
2. Timely follow-up with clients.
3. Safe handling of various tools.
4. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely.
5. Strong customer service skills for effective communication with job site foremen.
6. Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic needs of active job sites.
7. Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication.

8. Solid written and verbal communication skills, along with basic computer operation skills for managing work orders.

9. Proven computer skills for entering work orders.
10. Understanding of time management principles.
11. Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Compensation:
$32/hour to $38/hour
