At Live Nation Entertainment, we're seeking a highly motivated and resourceful VIP Cocktail Server to join our team at the House of Blues in New Orleans. As a key member of our nightlife team, you'll be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our guests, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience.
- Anticipate and respond to guests' needs with a high level of attentiveness and professionalism.
- Develop a strong working knowledge of all beverages, including cocktails, wines, and spirits.
- Take orders, make recommendations, and suggestively sell beverages and menu items to enhance the guest experience.
- Communicate drink orders to the bar through our Point of Sales system and deliver drinks to guests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including removing dirty glasses and dishes from tables and keeping tables clean and wiped.
- Assist with maintaining the overall cleanliness and safety of the venue, adhering to our high standards of sanitation and safety.
- Request identification from guests who appear to be under 30 years of age and ensure responsible alcohol service in accordance with local ordinances and our company policies.
- Exemplify professional grooming standards and maintain a positive and safety-minded attitude in all interactions with guests and colleagues.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Flexible schedule and ability to work late hours.
- Working knowledge of cocktail tray service, basic food service, responsible alcohol service, drink recipes, and garnishes.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience serving in an upscale dining and nightlife venue.
- Tolerance of all cultures, music, and art forms.
- Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cash handling experience.
- Basic knowledge of wines, spirits, and mixology.
- Experience recognizing valid IDs.
- Experience in a live music environment.
Physical Demands/Working Environment:
- Fast-paced, often loud, and stressful working environment.
- Extended periods of prolonged standing and working on your feet.
- Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
