Job Title: Senior Web Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Web Engineer to join our team at Fidelity Investments. As a Senior Web Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our web applications and platforms.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to work on a wide range of applications and platforms, including Fidelity Mobile Apps and Active Trader Pro. You will be part of a cross-functional team that works collaboratively to deliver high-quality digital experiences to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop web applications and platforms using modern programming languages and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and prioritize project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code, following best practices and coding standards.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve the quality of the codebase.
  • Work closely with the QA team to ensure that our applications meet the required quality standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in web development.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on web development.
  • Strong knowledge of HTTP-based APIs, networking, and how the internet works.
  • Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, HTML, and browser developer tools.
  • Understanding of async code, including promises, callbacks, and event loops.
  • Experience with JavaScript tooling, including ESLint, Webpack, Grunt, and Gulp.
  • Experience with JavaScript MV frameworks, such as Angular v9+.
  • Comfortable with visual design and rapid prototyping.
  • Expertise in one IDE of choice, such as VS Code or WebStorm.
  • Experience with frameworks such as NPM and Express.
  • Experience with automation tools and frameworks, such as Mocha, Jasmine, Selenium, and Protractor.
  • Advanced Git skills.
  • Experience with API design and development, microservices architecture, DevOps, automated testing, and continuous delivery.
