Job Overview

The Clinical Research Operations Leader at Nemours Children's Health is responsible for the strategic oversight and advancement of clinical studies within the Delaware Valley region. This role involves supervising and coordinating the activities of research personnel, ensuring the effective management of all clinical research initiatives at our institution. The position encompasses leadership over both Hematology and Oncology Research teams, facilitating collaboration with various research partners across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Oversight:
1. Engage with medical professionals and faculty regularly to evaluate their clinical trials research needs.
2. Establish objectives and performance metrics in collaboration with medical faculty to promote the growth of the clinical trials program.
3. Provide regular updates to the Associate Administrator regarding new initiatives and ongoing project performance, while seeking input for future program enhancements.
4. Assist in the financial management of the clinical trials program within the Delaware Valley.

Leadership and Management:
1. Oversee the daily operations of research coordinators and staff.
2. Offer guidance and support for submissions to scientific and ethical review boards.
3. Evaluate new research protocols and ensure adequate staffing for current and future studies.
4. Conduct interviews and make recommendations for hiring.
5. Provide ongoing oversight and feedback to clinical trials personnel.
6. Implement systematic procedures for record-keeping, drug accountability, patient interactions, and adherence to good clinical practices.
7. Prepare for external audits or investigations through pre-reviews.
8. Manage the performance of designated staff members.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of five years of experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator or equivalent, with at least five years in pediatric clinical settings.
  • A Master's degree is preferred; a Bachelor's degree with relevant experience may be considered.
  • A BSN with an active Delaware Nursing License is preferred.
