Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Naval Architect to join our team at Naval Sea Systems Command. As a key member of our Surface Ship Propulsor team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative propulsion systems for the US Navy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement surface ship propulsor policies, standards, and criteria
  • Identify and secure funding for technical support and headquarters oversight
  • Serve as the US Navy's technical representative on Joint Service Panels and NATO Panels
  • Manage assigned surface ship propulsor programs
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in naval architecture and engineering, with experience in surface ship propulsor design and development. You will also need to have excellent communication and project management skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as naval architecture, mechanical engineering, or marine engineering
  • At least 1 year of experience in surface ship propulsor design and development
  • Strong knowledge of propulsion systems, including propellers, waterjets, and appendages
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
