Assistant Director of Student Life

The McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia seeks a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as an Assistant Director of Student Life. This role will play a critical part in implementing Student Life functions and educational services, working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver exceptional support to our student communities.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as an academic advisor for an assigned cohort of undergraduate students, providing guidance and support to help them achieve academic success.
- Help deliver and coach students on strategies to maximize academic success, promoting academic opportunities for McIntire students.
- Contribute to designing student onboarding, advising resource development, program planning and execution, and collaborating with student leaders and professional colleagues to design and facilitate community-building experiences.
- Support the development and implementation of inclusive community-building programming that promotes belonging and supports Commerce-related student organizations and governing councils.
- Collaborate with faculty in providing exceptional support to our student communities, including advising students as they matriculate through their program of study.
- Master's degree in student affairs, higher education, counseling, or another equivalent field and at least three (3) years of relevant experience.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.
- Proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas), the Student Information System (SIS), Stellic, Drupal, Salesforce, and Qualtrics preferred.
The University of Virginia offers a competitive salary range of $58,000 - $70,000, depending on experience. The selected candidate will be required to complete a background check prior to their first day of employment. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a retirement plan.
