Video Relay Service Interpreter Job Opportunity

We are seeking highly skilled Sign Language Interpreters to join our team as Video Relay Service (VRS) Professionals. As a VRS Interpreter, you will play a crucial role in facilitating communication between Deaf and hard of hearing individuals and their hearing counterparts.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality interpreting services between American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English. You will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, utilizing your excellent interpreting skills to ensure effective communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and efficient interpreting services between ASL and spoken English
  • Maintain compliance with national, state, or local licensure and certification requirements
  • Demonstrate full compliance with Sorenson standards and policies, FCC regulations, and the RID Code of Professional Conduct
  • Achieve accurate completion of assigned tasks, duties, projects, and paperwork within approved guidelines
  • Exhibit flexibility to adapt to changing technologies and demands of the VRS industry

Requirements:

  • Interpreter certification
  • 3 years' experience working as an interpreter (preferred but not required)
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tools, and other computer components
  • Regular and predictable attendance
