At Lexington Medical Center, we are seeking a highly skilled Medical Interpreter to join our team. In this Onsite PRN Position, you will play a vital role in facilitating communication between patients and staff, ensuring that everyone receives the highest quality care.

Job Summary:

A Medical Interpreter at Lexington Medical Center is an employee who facilitates communication of spoken messages between Limited English Proficient (LEP) patients and visitors and LMC staff and providers. This critical role combines cultural and linguistic knowledge with excellent language skills to enhance patient understanding of medical procedures, treatment, and discharge instructions.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate outstanding listening, analytical, and short-term memory skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent language skills in both English and another language.
  • Understand ethical and professional codes of conduct covering confidentiality, informed consent, and privacy.
  • Provide interpretation services effectively, with accuracy of meaning through the use of medical, business, and general terminology.
