Job Summary

The Surgical Tech provides critical support to the medical staff during surgical cases, ensuring that the operating room is prepared with the necessary supplies and equipment. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare operating rooms with appropriate supplies and equipment
  • Perform necessary counts at the appropriate times
  • Pass instruments to surgeon during surgical procedures
  • Assist with cleaning of operating rooms
  • Provide service to patients throughout the life span, including newborns, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric age groups
Requirements
  • Minimum Education: High school graduate or equivalent, with a graduate of a surgical technician school required
  • Minimum Experience: At least one year experience in the operating room within an acute care facility, with a minimum of one year experience on an open heart team required for cardiovascular program
  • Certification/Licensure: Current CPR certificate, with a current Surgical Technician Certificate preferred
