Job Summary:

We are seeking a Certified Surgical First Assist to join our team at CommonSpirit Health. As a Surgical First Assist, you will provide aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical functions to help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient.

Responsibilities:

* Provide intraoperative technical support to the surgeon, including exposure, hemostasis, and closure
* Perform preoperative and postoperative duties to facilitate proper patient care
* Work under the direction and supervision of the surgeon and in accordance with hospital policy and laws and regulations

Qualifications:

* Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited first assist program and/or evidence of preceptorship of 140 operative cases as a surgical first assist
* Certified Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
* Completion of an Accredited Surgical First Assist Program with Certification as a Surgical First Assist
* Current Certified Surgical Technologist with completion of a CAAHEP-accredited first assist program
* CT CPRBLS = AHA-Basic Life Support-Natl
* CT CSFA = Certified Surgical 1st Assist-Natl
* CT ORT = Certified Surgery Tech-Natl
* Both the Certified Surgical Technologist and Certified Surgical First Assist certification(s) must be provisioned through the NBSTSA

Preferred Qualifications:

* 4 years Certified Surgical Technologist
* Surgical First with experience to include but not limited to Robotic, Surgical, General, Neurosurgery, Spinal, Orthopedic; Cardiovascular Thoracic, GYN, and Urology
* CST and CSFA certification(s) provisioned through the NBSTSA preferred but may be grandfathered in compliance with current Nevada Revised Statues
